Intuit is closing the Mint, budgeting app, as of January 1, 2024. OMG! Ms. Black shares how you should go about identifying a replacement budgeting app and a list of potential replacements.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Do I want a free app, or can I afford to pay for an app?
  2. What is my budgeting style (zero-based, envelope system, 50/30/20, spending plan, spreadsheet)?
  3. Do I want to connect my financial institutions, upload, or manually enter my information?
  4. Do I need my financial planner/coach, spouse/partner, or child to be able to access the app?
  5. Would I like to access the budget through an app only, desktop only, or both?
  6. What platform do I use Apple iOs or Google/android?

Apps mentioned the most:  Monarch Money, Empower, Simplfi, YNAB, Rocket Money, Tiller, Fidelity Full View
